Eye-Com Corporation Joins in the Effort to Manage Fatigue on the Road

The International Conference on Fatigue Management in Transportation Operations: A Framework for Progress took place March 24-26, 2009 and was hosted by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Human Factors Coordinating Committee under its Operator Fatigue Management Program. Eye-Com Corporation (ECC) representatives were among the over 275 researchers, practitioners, managers, labor organizations, and operators with focus on every mode of transportation that attended the conference in Boston, MA. ECC presented its Eye-Com™ Biosensor, Communicator and Controller (Eye-Com™) device as a drowsiness and fatigue detection system. Long-distance drivers, pilots, train conductors and other heavy equipment and vehicle operators are at risk for accidents and injury related to the problem of drowsy driving or the operation of any vehicle or equipment while impaired by fatigue. The Eye-Com™ can be used to identify oculometric signs of drowsiness and alert a driver, helping them get safely from point A to point B.
