Industry Insight from Eye Com’s Eye Tracking Experts...An interview with CEO, Ky GoodWhat does the future hold for Eye-Com Corporation and the eye tracking industry? This next article features an interview with Eye-Com CEO, Ky Good. Find out what he says is the company’s most valuable asset and which factors make Eye-Com’s advanced EC7T platform stand out in the competitive marketplace.

CEO Keeping Eye-Com Team Moving at Full Speed

“Watching the engineers create innovative applications and features for the technology” is what Eye-Com CEO Ky Good deems the most exciting part of the Eye-Com project. So, what does the CEO of a fast-growing research and development company do? His primary role is to keep the team on track, both budget- and task-wise. He makes certain the staffing is appropriate for the tasks at hand, oversees the money necessary to complete the tasks, and ensures the delivery of products at the end of each project.

In recent years, Eye-Com has seen significant advancements in its technology; however, the technology is not the whole of it. Good says the biggest asset to the company is the Eye-Com team. “The people drive the technology, they create ideas, they create innovations and ways to cost-reduce the product, to enhance the features and the applications.” The team moves forward with creativity and energy going into every step of the development for the newest generation of the Eye-Com platform.

As for the technology itself, Good calls it “quite innovative and cutting-edge from both a hardware and software perspective.” The latest generation of eye tracking device is the EC7T, a wearable setup that can integrate multiple cameras for both eye and head tracking and eventually sensors to collect EEG data. It provides a mechanism and platform for enhancing applications that have yet to be imagined. Good believes that the device will incorporate optical, audio, and neural sensors that will drive many applications in the next 10, 20, and 50 years. “Our intention,” he explains, “is to leverage and collaborate with many companies, ideally bringing those pieces together to provide an optimum product for end users.”

There are several factors he believes make Eye-Com stand out in the competitive marketplace: it’s wearable, it’s non-obtrusive, and it’s a platform that can set a standard form for other biosensors to come. He would like to see the technology evolve into something so small and cost-effective, it can be seamlessly embedded into everyday wearable devices like sunglasses, without intruding on normal activities.
