EC7T™ as a Biometric Device
In addition to eye tracking and head tracking, the EC7T™ can be used as a biometric device to collect several optical measurements (oculometrics) and movement patterns. These can be used for research and to evaluate and assess a variety of human health-related and behavioral conditions like sleep disorders, ADD/ADHD, and Traumatic Brain Injury. The following are just a few of the oculometrics that can be obtained using the EC7T™ as a biometric device:
- Percentage of time eyes are closed overtime (PERCLOS)
- Eye Blink Duration (EBD)
- Eye Blink Frequency (EBF)
- Pupil Size and Area
Eye-Com Corporation is currently investigating the possibility of integrating the EC7T™ system with additional biometric technologies like brain-wave (EEG) and cardiac (EKG) sensors for comprehensive biomonitoring capabilities.
