Meet Our Research Team
Dr. Carlos Cardillo
Research Director
Dr. Cardillo is an expert in biostatistics, and development and execution of scientific research programs. While at Eye-Com Corporation, Carlos has designed and implemented research utilizing state-of-the-art technology to evaluate the integration of oculometrics and other neurophysiological measures as indicators of fatigue, workload, and drug impairment in simulated and operational scenarios. Before Eye-Com, Carlos worked in several renowned research laboratories, including the US Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory , New York Institute for Medical Research, and NeuroCorp, Ltd.
Dr. William C. Torch
Eye-Com Founder and Chairman
Dr. Torch is Board Certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is currently the medical director of the Neurodevelopmental and Neurodiagnostic Center in Reno, Nevada. As a child and adult sleep specialist, he is also the founder and medical director of the AASM-accredited Washoe Sleep Disorders Centers. Dr. Torch has treated thousands of patients over the last 30+ years with brain, spinal cord, neuromuscular, neuro-psychiatric and sleep disorders that afflict newborns, children and adults of all ages.
Ed Gutierrez
Lead Research Technologist
Ed Gutierrez is an expert in Sleep Medicine. He is a Board Registered Sleep Polysomnographist and the Lead Research Technologist at Eye-Com Corporation. In the last decade, he has participated in numerous funded studies using the Eye-Com eye tracking system and the Eye-Com Lab Drive Simulator to detect fatigue and drowsiness in drivers.
Lauren Dalton
Research Assistant
Lauren Dalton specializes in biology, chemistry, and public health. As the Eye-Com Research Assistant, she is engaged in many of the administrative and technical operations of the Eye-Com Clinical and Human Factors Research Laboratory.
